Oakleaf Kawasaki was set up 2008 to support local talent in motocross. From an early
age Team Principal Shaun Anthony loved the thrill and excitement of Motorcross having
been a family tradition for 30 years. Shaun was unable to mix Motorcross riding with a
semi-professional football career so never rode professionally although couldn't keep
away from the sport.
When his brother Dave was looking for sponsorship Shaun’s building business stepped in
and this is where the Oakleaf Kawasaki Motorcross Team was launched.
From Shauns experience and awareness of the sport it was clear that riders needed
more support around them to compete at the highest level. To do this they have to have
a committed team backing them so they can concentrate on what they do best which is
race.
The team started competing in South West Premier MX Champs and Wolfsport British
Masters. From 2010 we then ran 2 riders in these competitions with Dave Anthony and
Scott Gains. 2011 saw the increased number of sponsors and also the introduction of
racing into the Red Bull Elite Nationals where Tommy Alba the new signing that year
raced on the Kawasaki 250f and finished 5th overall in this competition. Also in 2011 we
signed James Dodd who was an MX2 British Championship rider.
Our reputation has grown throughout the UK and we are now recognised and supported
by Kawasaki Motors UK.
We currently run 4 riders Alex Snow 450f, James Dodd 250f, Jake Millward and Tommy
Alba 250f upcoming youth stars. All riders compete against the best in the country as well
as world class riders. The team consistently travel the UK racing to win in one of the
world's most challenging sports as well as advertising our much appreciated sponsors.
